The signing of a technical cooperation agreement between Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF) and Porto do Açu marks the beginning of a strategic partnership that will strengthen the connection between academia and the port sector. This collaboration, promoted by Cais Açu Lab, will allow professors and students from UFF to actively participate in the development of applied research, development, and innovation projects, using Porto do Açu as a platform for creating new opportunities in the sector.
Professor Newton Pereira, from the Escola de Engenharia Industrial Metalúrgica de Volta Redonda (EEIMVR/UFF) and UFF’s representative in the project, highlights that this partnership is an opportunity for mutual development: “This strategic partnership between both institutions will, in the near future, enable the generation of new knowledge, as well as technological and scientific development within the scope of this agreement.”
To illustrate the vision and objectives of this partnership, an exclusive interview with Professor Newton Pereira will be presented, where he shares his perspectives on the impact and potential of this initiative. We are excited about the progress this connection will bring, integrating academic knowledge with the practical and innovative demands of Porto do Açu.
