The Greenhouse Gas Emissions Calculation Platform project, carried out in partnership with Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and funded by CNPq, aims to develop a digital solution based on big data for diagnosing, forecasting, and selecting the best decarbonization options for the Brazilian maritime industry. Cais Açu Lab acted as a facilitator, mobilizing 11 companies to support and endorse the project.
ElixSea features advanced software that generates detailed reports on the energy efficiency index and carbon intensity of vessels, fleets, and specific areas. In addition to monitoring data, this tool suggests the most effective solutions for each situation, considering differences between available technologies and fuels. In this way, it supports the maritime industry in decarbonizing its operations by aiding decision-making, accelerating the transition to low-carbon operations.
To demonstrate how ElixSea works and its potential impact, a video will be presented showcasing the tool’s functionalities and discussing the next steps of this innovative project. This represents a promising step toward the decarbonization of the maritime sector, and we are excited to share this journey!
