Porto do Açu was announced as one of the winners of the Global Distinguished Innovator (GDI) Awards 2025, an award promoted by the Global Innovation Institute that recognizes private sector organizations with consistent performance in structured innovation.

The category highlights institutions that implement systematic innovation programs, with a clear strategic direction and the ability to execute continuously, focused on developing sustainable capabilities and generating long-term value.

The evaluation criteria consider the ability to continuously generate relevant innovations with measurable impact both within and beyond the business, as well as the level of stakeholder engagement, achievement of proposed objectives, and contribution to broader social transformation.

At Porto do Açu, the innovation agenda is driven with the support of Cais Açu Lab, which works by articulating research, development, and innovation initiatives, fostering connections between companies, startups, academic institutions, and strategic partners. The ecosystem has enabled projects focused on digital transformation, decarbonization, operational efficiency, and sustainability in the port and industrial sectors.
