The Greenhouse Gas Emissions Calculation Platform project, carried out in partnership with the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and with CNPq funding, aims to develop a big data-based digital solution for diagnosis, prognosis, and selection of the best decarbonization options for the Brazilian maritime industry. Cais Açu Lab acted as a facilitator, mobilizing 11 companies to support and endorse the project.

ElixSea has advanced software that generates detailed reports on the energy efficiency and carbon intensity of vessels, fleets, and specific areas. In addition to monitoring data, this tool suggests the most effective solutions for each situation, considering the differences between available technologies and fuels. In this way, it supports the maritime industry in decarbonizing its operations by assisting in decision-making, which accelerates the transition to low-carbon operations.

To demonstrate how ElixSea works and its potential impact, we will present a video that explores the tool’s features and discusses the next steps in this innovative project. This is a promising step toward decarbonizing the maritime sector, and we are excited to share this journey!
