In this edition of InovaPortos, the Innovation Manager at the Porto do Açu, Juliane Castro Carneiro, participated in the panel “Collaboration that transforms: The role of innovation hubs in the future of ports,” alongside Cesar Viegas (Innovation Manager – SEBRAE) and Paulo Freire (Operations Manager – Vale), moderated by Raul Lamarca (Hub Livre).
The panel discussed how innovation hubs are taking on a strategic role in the digital transformation of the port sector, connecting real challenges with technological solutions and promoting a new culture of collaboration and efficiency. Cais Açu Lab, the Porto do Açu’s innovation hub, was widely cited by participants as a national benchmark in port innovation. Even though it was not initially listed among the cases, Cais was spontaneously mentioned in several speeches, highlighting its impact, structure, and significant results.
The 6th edition of InovaPortos, held on June 17 and 18 in São Luís (MA), brought the theme “Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence in the port sector,” bringing together leaders and experts from all over Brazil to discuss the main trends that are shaping the present and future of ports.
The event also featured a robotics tournament with students from public and private schools in Maranhão and the presentation of the Porto do Itaqui Award, recognizing academic and communication projects focused on the port sector.
